Howdy! Welcome to Day 2 :)
Today I used one of my very favorite pocket page configurations for the Simple Stories 6x8 albums - the 2x2
This particular style has been so popular that we included a few of them in the Holiday SN@P! Binder that I'm using as a base for my December Daily this year.
When I sat down to document today, I realized how easy it's going to be to do this project every day this year because I prepped all of the pages ahead of time. This page literally took me 5 minutes tonight because I already had all of the bits in the pockets with the exception of the three 2x2 photos. HOORAY!
When I work with small pockets like this, I love to leave a lot of the squares 'open' so you can see through them. That includes adding pieces like wood veneer and sequins so they float in the pockets. I also like to adhere sticker & brads & chipboard to the tops/outside of the pockets for added dimension.
Here's what the page looks like in the album, you get a little peek of day 3 through some of the pockets :)
Because one of the 2x2 cards on the front of the page already had 'deck the halls' written on it, I figured I'd include a few small photos of decorations in our house. I have so many fond memories of our Christmas decorations when I was a kid, but I don't have any photos of them, so I always like to include photos of our decorations in my December Daily albums each year. I usually end up having a few days in the month with decorations - they end up being good 'filler' pages when you don't have a lot going on!
And here's what the page looks like outside of the book so you can see the details a little better -
Thanks for joining me for Day 2!
