Day 12
Last night I was working on my December Daily.
(incidentally, here's a glimpse of what that TORNADO looks like the ENTIRE month of December...)
Ah, but I digress.
So anyway, back to last night.
Jack came into my scrapbook room and was chatting away with me. I had a set of alpha stamps on the table and he picked them up.
(I know what you're thinking, how in the world did he see them in this mess...)
So anyway, he picked them up.
And started taking them out of alphabetical order and moving the letters around.
(Looking at the picture above, you wouldn't guess that I'm 'Type A', would you? I know what you're thinking. NO way. Ah, but it's true. Especially when it comes to my alpha stamps being out of order. But I bit my tongue and let him continue moving the letters around. Good thing I did....)
The picture you see on the front of today's page is what he showed me when he was done.

Spelled out along the top 3 rows of the stamps.
Can I get an 'awwwwwww'?!
Now, there's something you should know about Jack. A few things. He's a few weeks shy of 14. That makes him a teenage boy. A VERY independent, 'mind of his own' teenage boy. A teenage boy that is so much like his mom that it's scary. Scary when you get the 2 of us together because much of the time (what seems like TOO much lately) we're like oil and water.
We don't mix too well.
I'm trying to be the adult. The parent. The one who doesn't let him get to me and overreact. He's being the teenager. The one who lets me get to him and overreact.
But we're working on it. Every. Day.
Some days are better than others.
And that's what makes yesterday special.
I love this kid.
