Had made some time this weekend to play -
When I was leaving BasicGrey early last summer, the Curio collection was getting ready to be debuted at the CHA Summer show. One of my favorite BG collections of all time! The colors and the textures and the patterns and the artwork - such a beautiful combination!
This is the 2nd creation I've made using the collection. The first was an altered canvas I did for a Paper Crafts special pub, I'll share that one when I can.
The photo in the layout is of a cathedral in Puerto Vallarta called Our Lady of Guadalupe. If you've seen it, you know how gorgeous it is. There's an amazing crown that sits at the top of the cathedral, just amazing.
We've vacationed to several areas outside of Puerto Vallarta 3 times in the past 5 years. As part of the trip, we always make it into Puerto Vallarta once during the stay. And every time I've had grand plans of taking some great shots of the cathedral. And every time my plans don't work out. The first time we were there at night. I took lots of pics, all blurry. The second time I didn't have my camera with me. The third time I had the camera, but the battery was dead. The fourth time I had the camera, but the camera card was full.
My last opportunity - we were headed back to where we were staying after a LONG excursion outside of the city, with 2 VERY tired boys in the car. As we were driving through the city, I convinced Nick to take a detour and drive past the cathedral. I took this shot out of the window as Nick slowed down.
I used products from Studio Calico's Who's Who kit and a few kit add ons. I added a few embellishments and a sheet of vintage french accounting ledger that my friend Sande gave me from one her trips to the Paris Flea Market.
Definitely not the best pic of the cathedral, not the picture that I had hoped for, but that's life and it's now captured along with the story that goes with it.
