Nick & I made a deal last weekend. If I cleaned up the basement, I could spend part of the day on Saturday with Sande. Junking. One of my favorite activities. Deal!
The basement. My studio is in the basement, along with the boys' playroom. And a cold storage room. And a bathroom. And a large unfinished room. And a hallway. Things in my studio have slowly crept into all parts of the basement. Into the wall to wall closets in the boys' playroom. And into the cold storage room. And into the large unfinished room. And into the hallway. And yes, even into the bathroom. Hey, it's where I rinse my paintbrushes. And clean my stamps (WHEN I clean them - heh). And they have to dry somewhere. The sink's a logical place, right?
I digress. Nick's tired of my creeping studio and wants me to get it back under control. (wondering what this has to do with a challenge, hang in there....)
So I started by cleaning my studio tonight. And there was A LOT of stuff on my workspace. And A LOT of stuff on the floor. I started picking up and putting things in piles. And a layout started to form. Other than the striped background paper on this layout, everything used was either on my workspace or on the floor. Even the pictures. Some Scenic Route mixed in with a little Karen Russel. The bird paper? It was torn that way, on my floor. How's that for recycling?
So, here's my challenge to you. Take the weekend and make a layout, or a card, or a little altered something - whatever - using stuff that's already on your workspace. Or on your floor. Or just plain out in the open. When you're done, post it on your blog, or on a message board, or anywhere you can find to post it. Then leave me a comment here with a link.
On Tuesday night (that gives you 5 days, you can do it), I'll randomly pick a layout and send the lucky winner a box of goodies. Sure, I'll throw in some new Scenic Route stuff, and also some stuff from my stash - some stuff that's new, and some stuff that I need to purge in order to limit the creeping....
