Creating Keepsakes recently published their Mixed Media Scrapbooking Volume 2 Special Issue featuring 276 great ideas for using mixed media in your scrapbooking -
To celebrate this special issue, some of the artists featured in the magazine are hosting a blog hop to share a sneak of their favorite project along with our thoughts on another favorite artist in the issue.
Here's a sneak peek of one of my layouts from the issue, featured on page 123 of the Photo Tricks: Transfers chapter -
I transferred a photo to a piece of canvas - a fun and relatively easy technique for adding some texture to your layouts.
You can also check out my other layout featured on page 75 in the Mad for Metallic chapter where I used Gelatos (a gold pigment ink made by Faber Kastell) and a gold pen.
One of the neatest things about this issue is that many of the techniques show step by step photos and instructions so you can create the technique on your own!
One of my favorite projects featured in the issue was designed by Nicolle Kramer, creating a textured honeycomb background on her layout using modeling paste. You'll find it on page 23 in the Modeling Mediums chapter. It's such a neat look and a technique I've always wanted to try, but haven't had the guts to!
Today's blog hop includes the following super talented designers -
- Layle Koncar <------ YOU ARE HERE
- Liz Hicks
- Courtney Walsh
- Noel Culbertson
- Ronda Palazzari
- Angela Magnuson
- Marion Smith
- Sharon Laakkonen
- Terri Anderson
- Candy Rosenberg
I encourage you to visit their blogs for a peak of one of their projects featured in the issue!
