Sheesh. Finding it harder and harder to keep up with this.... I know, I know. Stop complaining. It's a choice, no pressure, don't have to finish... I could go on and on ;) Quit the bah-humbugging and get on with it, right?
Anyhoo.
Day 17
Discovered the boys hanging out by the tree. Just hanging out. They'd been there about 20 minutes when I found them... Doing nothing, really, they said. They just liked sitting by the tree.
And yes, I realize I said 'boys'. And when you look at the picture, you see 'boy'. Jack is there. Having a hard time getting the color right when I take pics of these pages. He's on the floor, to the right of Sam. You can see his hand peeking out!
I bought a Silhouette Cameo back in September. Against my better judgement. I've never owned a cutting machine. Never up my alley. It was expensive, and truth be told, I wasn't sure that I would even use it. Had it for about a month before I took it out of the box and hooked it up (insert 'buyer's remorse). Then it sat for another 2 months (insert more 'buyer's remorse'). Finally used it for the first time this weekend on a few assignments for Creating Keepsakes.
Can I get a 'hallelujah'?!! (delete 'buyer's remorse'!)
Can I just say I LOVE IT!
SO cool. So fun. So many possibilities.
I cut the 'the good stuff' on the front of the page from a piece of American Crafts POW! gold glitter paper (you can purchase the 'the good stuff' design here for $.99).
Watch out - I just may be addicted!
That cute little glassine envelope stapled to the back? Packaging from a kit I ordered from Paula Cheney a few months back. I gently opened the bottom, added some gold glitter to the envelope and then sealed it back shut.
Day 18
Paper whites - I love to hate them! Love the smell, love having them bloom, hate that you really have to get them started around Thanksgiving in order to have them bloom right around Christmas. I usually remember well into the first week of December, and by then it's really too late - unless you want green paper white stems adorning your table on Christmas. Eh, not really the look I'm going for, if you get my drift ;)
This year, we made it though. Nick and I were shopping the day before Thanksgiving and ran across this cool green, shallow planter at Crate and Barrel (hey, just checked and it's on sale right now for $17.95, down from $24.95). It was perfect for paper whites, so we grabbed it, bought paper white bulbs and promptly planted - they day before Thanksgiving.
And look at them now! A few bulbs have bloomed, most are just about there. Perfect timing for our Christmas dinner party on Tuesday.
