Put the finishing touches on the 'summer mantle' today. It's been 90% done for the last 2 months. Only fitting that I finish it before the summer's over, eh?
The mirror has become a staple after living in our cold storage for 4 or 5 years after I picked it up at an estate sale. Nick hates it where it is, says the light from the ceiling bounces off of the mirror and creates funky stuff on the tv screen when he tries to watch it.
Oh well, I always say form over function. Definitely in our house!

I printed the poster on my photo printer, matted it on a teal piece of cardstock and then put it in an old, vintage frame - easy peasy!
The colors coordinate really well with this -
My dad gave this to Jack when Jack was in 5th grade. It was my dad's globe when he was the same age. I figured Jack wouldn't mind if I 'borrowed' it. This way, we can all enjoy it.
Love the way the 'world' in the quote ties in with the globe.
