(warning, photo heavy post!)
A week ago today we were on our way home from Spring Break. Neuvo Vallarta (just north of Puerto Vallarta). We had a fabulous time, including the eating, the drinking, the lazing in the sun, the boogy boarding and even the piggy back rides on the beach (nevermind that I had a dress on for said piggy back rides - nothing to see here people, move on .....).
With the weather we've had this week since we've been back - rain, sleet, hail, & snow - I'm definitely feeling deprived of that vitamin D packed sun!
Here's the trip in pictures. And, if you know me, you know these are only a few of hundreds and hundreds that I snapped. But I'll spare you from the hundreds and hundreds here; I'll hold that for when we invite you over to watch a slideshow of our vacation pics with our super old fashioned carousel slide projector and the sheet duck taped to the wall ;)

Enjoying margaritas. GIANT ones, at that. No shortage of tequila consumed on this trip.... Hey, it's vacation. At least I attempted to negate at least one margarita a day by running on the beach... Now if that could only be said for the chips and guacamole and the rest of the margaritas.

Zip lining
Ok, about this one. The boys have been asking to do this since we were in the same area 2 years ago. To make a long story short, according to the 2 child units, the 2 parental units made a collosal error the day we headed out to go zip lining last time, and we missed it. So this year, there was no doubt in their minds we were going.
My mind? Not quite convinced... Despite the fact that I'm not too fond of deathly afraid of heights, we booked a 4 hour trip through our resort with Vallarta Adventures and headed out (incidentally, I would HIGHLY recommend them!!).
It was an experience, to say the least. It's one of those things that I can't necessarily say was on my bucket list or something I've had a burning desire to do. But, that was the case for both Jack and Sam. And you know the drill, when you're a parent, sometimes you gotta do the stuff that pushes you outside of your comfort zone. And there was no way in hell they were going to let me stay back at the resort and enjoy a nice, quiet, margarita induced day of laying in the sun. Believe me, I tried. I'm just sayin...
Interestingly enough, the actual flying in the air along the zip line wasn't the 'I'm so scared I could pee my pants' part for me. Nope. It was standing on the teeny, tiny little platforms at the top of the trees as you moved from one zip line to the other. That and the repelling that Sam's doing here.

This picture? Look WAY, WAY, WAY down there. See that LITTLE black spot on the ground. The one that's SO FAR AWAY that I had to add a red arrow to the pic for you to see it? See it? Yah. That's a guy. ON THE GROUND.
And that my friends was the 2nd worst part of zip lining according to me - stepping backwards OFF of the little tiny platforms I mentioned above and repelling from the top of the trees back to the OH MY GOD I NEVER THOUGHT I'D BE SO HAPPY TO HIT THE GROUND ground...
Like I said. Done. An experience crossed off my list that was not on my list in the first place ;) But the boys loved it and would definitely do it again. And that's why I did it.
With that said, back to the trip in pics. And with that said, if you're still reading along, you deserve a margarita!

My 3 favorite guys :)

Dinner at another one of our favorite restaurants down there - Adautos on the Beach in Bucerias.

And, of course, lots and lots and LOTS of ocean time and boogie boarding for Nick and the boys.

And there you have it.
After all that, now do you see why I'm missing the sun?!
