It's windy, cold, and raining cats and dogs outside.
And as a result, I find myself with a bit of unexpected free time. My poor boys are at football practice. Yes, in this weather!! You know the saying about the postman - 'neither rain, nor sleet, nor snow...'. Well, the same applies to football. Doesn't matter what the weather is like outside, as long as it's not lightning, they play! Normally I'd be there, I'm committed but not THAT committed to standing out there watching them in the freezing rain, so here I am with some free time and posting about Inspiration Unlimited a few weeks ago.
What a fantastic event! Can't believe it's come and gone again so quickly. I've loved seeing friends from past years and making new ones, seriously I've made some great friends over the years through this event!
Here are the layouts I taught using Pink Paislee's awesome Nantucket line and gorgeous sandable embossed coordinating cardstock from Core'dinations -
On Saturday I taught for a FULL day - in the first room starting at 7 am getting ready and finished the 3rd room at 6:30 that night. PHEW! But fabulous! 3 back to back classes with so many fun ladies!
Class was hopping.
3 different technique stations. We misted and stamped and fussy cut and sanded and sewed crepe paper and played with glitter.
A HUGE shout out to the best TA's/helpers I've had in all of my years of teaching - mother/daughter team extrordinaire Norma and Kelley McAndrews. Seriously they were amazing. They manned the 3 technique stations for me through all 3 classes - set everything up, walked everyone through the techniques, tore everything down and moved me from class to class. I seriously could not have managed without them!
Here's a pic of my car packed to the gills as I was leaving home to drive down to Vegas -
Seriously, the car was so full. Other than the space in between the boxes for me to see safely while driving, I could not have fit in another thing. My suitcase was jammed on the floor in the front seat. Even stuff piled high on the passenger seat. As I was driving down the road, the warning kept going off because the car thought there was a passenger in the front seat without the seatbelt on (that much stuff was on there!), so I had to pull over and figure out a way to fasten the seatbelt around it all!
I had my camera with me and had every intention of taking pics during the event, but didn't quite happen... So here are a few photos I've 'borrowed' :) from Facebook and from Taylor (Teresa's daughter)
(teachers at the closing ceremonies, after a LONG day of teaching! - me, Amber Packer, Teresa Collins, Joey Otlo (Janet Hopkins not pictured)
(Cute Sarah and Katie! Love these girls. I met Sarah at the event 3 years ago. She came not knowing a soul. She met Katie that year and they've become great friends ever since. That's one of the great things about this event, many friendships made!)
Finally, A HUGE THANKS to Teresa and Ginger for inviting me teach at the event again this year and for all of the long hours and hard work they put in to make this such a successful event! Love you guys!!
