Characters Welcome.

Fantastic long weekend!  A little running, a little resting, a lot of eating (Thanksgiving on Thursday at Nick's mom's and then again Saturday at my mom's), a Jazz game, a lot of shopping, a little crafting, a little decorating - all crammed into 5 days. 

Completely forgot to post the winners of Ella's Journaling that Matters ebook - sorry about that!

lov e this ella book! i am grateful we have yet to get snow or cold or winter like weather, as my house is completely gutted on the lower level! i am also grateful the contractors are able to solve this fiirst problem and we can move forward! i am so excited to be able to renovate after nine long years of waiting. i would also be grateful for journal prompts via ella's new book!

I thought I'd post one of the layouts I did for the book, the journaling prompt was to record a conversation.

Journaling reads

Mom: Really?  You're going to wear THAT out to dinner?

Sam: Yah mom, you've got to STAND OUT if you want to get NOTICED.

Mom: Yep, you're sure to get noticed allright!

 

Gotta love the kid.  Outfit complete with his cuban 'Alejandro hat', hooded skater t-shirt I brought back from Amsterdam a few years ago, plaid board shorts, argyle socks and Chuck Converse high tops with skulls all over them.

 

NICE.

 

And that's what journaling CAN be.  Not a novel.  Not a long, drawn out, mushy gushy outpouring.  Just a quick story. Not that there's anything wrong with a long, drawn out, mushy gushy outpouring of a novel, mind you.  But that's not for everyone.  And I happen to think that's what scares a lot of people away from journaling.

 

And this one's a story I'll be sure to remember for quite a while!
