Thanks so much for all of comments and emails with well wishes for Sam! It means a lot.
He is doing SO MUCH better. SO MUCH. He hasn't had a fever for the last 2 days, hasn't thrown up for the last 2 days, and seems to be back to his chipper self. We've kept him home from school again today just to be safe, so he can continue to rest and get better. It's looking like he'll be back in school tomorrow, just in time for the Halloween party.
PHEW!
In other news around here, Nick took Que to the vet last week. Imagine his surprise when the vet told him that we could not have Que spayed.
It turns out she is a he.
So he was neutered instead.
So much for a little balance in the Koncar household, still all boys and me!
Finally a few minutes to post about the Simply Inspired event I taught at a few weeks ago in Louisiana -
What a blast! Seriously! ElizabethThank put on such a great event. Thank you Elizabeth! And Norma and Leslie (her parents that were super hosts) and all of the TA's and helpers and students! I had fun, the teachers had fun, the students had fun, everyone had fun!
Margie and I were traveling companions. Lots of time to talk and chat and talk and chat and talk and chat. The poor lady next to us on the flight from SLC to Houston, she was probably thinking we would never shut up. If she was, she was right, we never did.... And that carried on through the entire trip. Especially on Saturday night. Until 3:30 am. Until I dragged myself off the floor and headed to my room to pack to leave the hotel at 5:30 am...
Did you know they have drive-thru Daiquiri places in Louisiana?!
I thought that was so cool!
A bunch of us hit the drive thru a few nights while we were there.
(don't worry, we waited until we got back to the hotel to start sipping....)
Elizabeth (the owner of Simply Scrapbooks and the one who put on the event) was so nice and offered to let us teachers (Rebecca, Debby and Terri) sit in on all of the classes. So much fun! We all thoroughly enjoyed it. It's been a long time since I've been on the student side of things and it was a huge breath of fresh air!
Here are a few shots from the classes -
Debby has some great photos from the event on her blog here.
We even managed a few little outings while we were there to do a little shopping. My favorite? A little antique store/mall called When Pigs Fly - so much to see there, so little time. We did a quick fly by, but managed (of course) to pick up a few fun things to bring home!
So I'm fairly certain this post is going to look really skewompus and off, but it's going to have to do for now - sorry about that!
Speaking of flying, I'm off the airport again in a few minutes. Headed to the UK to teack at the Scrap Fever event!
Will share next week when I get back.
Ciao!
