Srapfest.
What a trip. Seriously! Nothing else like it out there. 3 crazy days in the largest mall in the US, thousands of woman, makes and takes and classes. All in the middle of the mall.
Oh yah, and a little shopping too.... ;)
Here are some pics of the make and takes -
The make and takes were absolutely nuts! Friday from 9 to 5, Saturday from 9 to 5 and Sunday from 11 to 4 - never a dull moment and we always had people in our line waiting to play with Indian Summer. Saturday was definitely the busiest day - we estimated about 1500 that day. For most of the day we had 9 people at the tables, we were flying through the cards! The ladies were really happy we were so organized with everything pre-cut, we figured out a few ways to get people through the cards even more quickly. We had quite a few comments that our line was one of the shortest, people had to wait 30 minutes at the most during the busiest times, I'd guess that most people only had to wait 15-20. The ladies said they really appreciated that from BasicGrey!
All 6 of our classes sold out within minutes after they went on sale during pre-registration. Kelly designed 2 super projects using Lemonade and June Bug that the ladies loved. I taught in the middle of the mall, in front of the Macy's entrance. It was pretty crazy! The mall is 4 stories tall and you can see from the top floor in this area. Lots of people hanging over the edge on the other floors checking the classes out. The 2nd pic is of my friend Jeannie (with Making Memories) teaching her class, but you get the idea - just pretend that's me up there...
On Saturday night after a full day of make and takes and classes at the mall, we headed to a local Archiver's store for their Crop Around Town that BasicGrey sponsored - full of 5 hours of cropping, food, prizes and fun.
This last pic is of the friendly neighborhood Starbucks guy. He came over to the store about 9:30 and took individual orders for anyone that wanted a drink. He wrote them all down on a separate bag, collected $, ran back to the Starbucks across the parking lot, rang up the drinks, put the change back in each individual bag, made each of the drinks and then delivered. It was crazy! Those Starbucks people sure know how to make happy scrapbookers. Now if I could only convince our friendly neighborhood Starbucks guy to do that for our office every day!
Between the classes, the make and takes and the Crop Around Town, I met some fantastic ladies. It was a great event, something I would do again!
Just game home from loading the car at Teresa's - I don't think we could fit another box in her Expedition! It's so full that we're both packing duffle bags instead of suitcases because the duffle bags will be easier to cram in!
I have the boy's parent/teacher conferences first thing in the morning and then Teresa is picking me up from the school and off we go to Vegas for Inspiration Unlimited. The 6 hour drive will be nice, it's been a long time since I've done nothing for 6 hours and been able to enjoy it! Looking forward to some girl talk during the drive. Once we get there, it will be another crazy event, full steam all day and all night. We had a great time last year and this year should be even more fun!
