We're zero for two. Yep. 0 girls, 2 boys. And that's all folks, no more little Koncars on the way, especially of the female persuasion. So when I scrap, I find myself in a bit of a predicament. I like flowers, and bling, and pink, just like the next gal. But, with 2 boys, it's sometimes hard to work in.
Anyone out there with me?
If so, here are a few tricks I use to work that fun stuff into my scrapbooking:
1. Scrap pictures of myself from when I was a little girl; that way I can add all of the pink and flowers and bling that I can squeeze onto a page.
2. Scrap photos of my boys when they were a tad bit younger and just add the flowers and bling and pink anyway; I figure I can get away with that until they're about 6 in the photos; then I'm going to get some pushback!
3. “Ground” the flowers with primary colours like I did in this layout - adding red and navy and yellow balances the addition of the flowers and the bling.
I've mentioned here before how much I love our new June Bug line. The line is so versatile, so many different options with the gorgeous colors and patterns.
The thing I love the MOST about this line is the navy, red and yellow. Makes it really easy to use those colors and patterns on a layout about Sam when he was younger, and still work in some flowers and bling!
Speaking of bling, on this layout I also used some of our Bling It On that I've talked about before here.
I received a few emails asking how the Bling It On works. The Bling It On comes in 2 pieces - the rub on sheet and then a clear sheet with the rhinestones. It's almost like you're getting 2 products for the price of 1. Many of the tiny rhinestones are 'linked' with a clear strip of adhesive, so you stick the strip on top of the rub-on once you've applied the rub-on.
I love the Bling It On - super easy, inexpensive, and adds quite a punch.
