I've mentioned before that my grandma passed away 2 summers ago and my grandpa passed away a few months ago. My dad has spent hours upon hours upon hours going through all of their things. He and his wife have been in town staying with us this week. And he brought boxes and boxes and boxes of my grandparent's things with him to share. I now have a nice stack of things that belonged to my grandparents. Some we decided to give to the boys - like their collection of pug figurines (they bred pugs for quite a few years), like my Dad's globe that he had when he was a boy, and quite a few treasures from their world travels over the years.
My dad uncovered quite a few amazing documents as he was going through their things. Letters that belonged to my great grandfather, some dating back to 1897! I can't tell you how cool it was reading and looking at those documents, knowing they are over 100 years old.
Now, did you have any idea that crayons last at least 78 years? Who knew?!!
