Paper Crafts has a really fun new special issue called Room to Room, combining paper crafting and home decorating. Right up my alley - my 2 favorite passions!
Here are a few of the fun projects I had the opportunity to work on for the issue (click on the pics for a larger view) -
This child's adirondack chair set was so fun to work on! I cut the flowers from this piece of Scenic Route paper. Lots and lots and LOTS of them!
I used some travel stickers on this old metal suitcase - one of my many flea market finds.
This barn star is designed to hang on a front door. More Scenic Route Laurel papers.
This lampshade was so easy! I used spray adhesive and 2 different trims and voila. A quick way to spruce up a lampshade.
I used an Xacto knife to cut the bird from this Scenic Route paper and then inserted it between 2 panes of glass in this floating frame wall hanging.
If you're looking for some fun ideas for decorating your house, fun gifts, and cool projects, this is a great issue to pick up!
Speaking of decorating, anyone watching Design Star on HGTV this season? LOVE IT - I'm voting every day online! The season finale is this Sunday and it's down to Kim and Todd. I think Kim is going to win, she's more 'sellable' on tv, if you know what I mean. Her style 'fits' with more people than Todd's. He's a fun guy, but some of his designs are a little out there. We watched it on Sunday and Sam (my 6 year old) has been talking non-stop now about wanting to change the fireplace in our family room - he wants to paint all of the rocks blue and add some stuff to make it look like a waterfall. He thinks Todd should win.
And no, we won't be painting the fireplace blue....
