...Valley that is. We spent a long weekend in Sun Valley, Idaho with 4 other couples celebrating some 40th birthdays. Turns out all but 2 of us have turned 40 - one of the other gals and myself. A little bit more than a year away for me. Funny, I was close to graduating from college when my Mom turned 40. Seems like I was so young back then and she was so old. Not old really, but you know what I mean. Mom old. My kids are still so young. I wonder if they think of me as Mom old.
Anyway, we had a great time. Here's Nick with our hosts - one of Nick's fraternity brothers and one of my sorority sisters. I was living with her when she started dating him. Then they hooked Nick and me up and we ended up getting married about a year and a half after they did. I figured out the other day that we've known them longer in our lives than we haven't known them - almost 20 years. Great friends.
We stayed at a ranch about 30 miles outside of Sun Valley. No phones, no tv, no computers, no stress, no agenda, just relaxation for 3 full days. Looks peaceful, doesn't it?
Saturday night was the birthday celebration. We had drinks and hors d'ourves at a wine bar before heading out for a 3 hour dinner. Great food, great wine, great conversation, lots of laughs - a good time with good friends.
Even after our long, relaxing weekend I'm still feeling whooped from CHA. Nick's taking the boys fishing all day on Sunday, so I'm hoping to catch up on a little sleep and scrapbooking then.
My new studio is coming along so well! Everything's set up, just getting product put away. A GREAT time to purge... I should have pics to share tomorrow!
